  • The Plugable Storage System is a unique integrated component set that allows 2.5" drives to be conveniently enclosed and used interchangeably between all three of the Plugable Storage System docking station variants. Drives are housed in protective cases for safe storage and easy transport.
  • Variations of the "PSS" include the PSS-SDH1 (*you are currently viewing this product*), a single drive SATA dock and 3-port USB 3.0 hub combination. The PSS-DD1 is a dual drive SATA dock with standalone drive clone duplication. The PSS-SDC1 is a single SATA dock and dedicated 3-port USB charger. Extra drive cases are also sold separately (PSS-CASE2) to allow an unlimited number of drives to be shared and safely transported between locations.
  • Supports all 2.5 inch (up to 9mm thick, 12mm without PSS case) SATA I, II, and III hard drives, solid state drives, and hybrid drives up to any capacity (6TB+). At the same time expand USB connectivity by connecting up to three USB 3.0, 2.0, or 1.1 devices to any USB 2.0 or 3.0 capable computer. Fully plug and play, devices can be hot-swapped, supports USB over-current protection.
  • Docking station connects via USB 3.0 SuperSpeed 5Gbps (640MBps), up to 10x as fast as USB 2.0. Take advantage of fast Serial ATA III drives and USB 3.0 bandwidth for fast storage backups. Comes with protective, hot-swappable, case for hard drives and includes optional rubber cover to protect SATA pins, while in transit.
  • UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol) support for even faster drive data transfer performance. (UASP functionality requires UASP capable host controller and operating system.) Features future-proof USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 connectivity. Uses the ASMedia ASM1053E chipset and firmware with UASP support and more for maximum performance and features. Open vertical docking bay for easy dock/undock of bare/internal 2.5" SATA drives. Connect a single 2.5" (up to 9mm thick, 12mm without PSS case) SATA drive (SATA I, II, & III supported) at USB 3.0 SuperSpeed 5Gbps (5Gbps=640MBps), up to 10x as fast as USB 2.0. Fully backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 at their native speeds. Real world transfer rate performance over USB 3.0 will vary by computer, host controller, and drive specifications.

Drive sleeps automatically on OS power events or 10 minutes of idle.

Supports 6TB+ drives on 64-bit operating systems (use drives less than 2TB for 32-bit Windows). Featuring the VIA VL812 B2 USB 3.0 hub chipset with the latest v9091 firmware for maximum compatibility with most USB 3.0 hosts. Supports Microsoft Windows 8.1 through XP, Mac OS X, and Linux kernels 3.0 and later. Apple SuperDrive not compatible.
